About HoodBasket

Born from a simple belief: everyone deserves access to fresh, local, and affordable produce right in their neighborhood.

Victor’s Vision

Growing up in a food desert, Victor Martinez knew firsthand the challenges of accessing fresh, healthy produce. His grandmother would travel hours just to find affordable vegetables for their family, often settling for wilted greens from distant supermarkets.

“I remember my abuela saying, ‘Mijo, fresh food shouldn’t be a luxury,’” Victor recalls. “That simple truth stuck with me through college, through my tech career, and eventually became the driving force behind HoodBasket.”

After years in Silicon Valley, Victor returned to Texas with a mission: to bridge the gap between local farmers and urban communities. He saw an opportunity to use technology not to replace human connection, but to strengthen it.

“HoodBasket isn’t just about delivering produce,” Victor explains. “It’s about rebuilding the relationship between people and their food, between communities and the land that feeds them.”
